Venerable has received some nice press on our involvement with Washington High School over the last year or so. In October, the Oregonian ran a piece on our plans for the project, including a gallery of some very cool “before construction” photos. The Business Journal ran a similar article around the same time. KGW announced the sale of the property for $2M and revealed our big plans for the roof deck.
Back in April of 2012, the DJC ran an article with a photo of Art in front of the high school. The article talks about plans to turn the building into housing. In 2013, after much due diligence and number crunching, we determined that housing was not a financial feasible approach to reusing this building. It also would have necessitated that the building’s historic interior be almost entirely gutted. All of the DJC’s other coverage of Washington High School over the years can be found here and the Oregonian’s can be found here.
